Individual Giving

Individuals can contribute to Sheffield's Green Bond in one of two ways:

Individuals are being encouraged to invest in the bond for a five-year term. A minimum investment of £25 is required. To invest click here to download the cheque investment form. At the end of the 5 year period, your investment can be redeemed, donated or reinvested in the Green Bond

Businesses are being encouraged to invest in the bond for a fixed term. A minimum investment of £500 is required. To invest click here to download the cheque investment form or contact us to arrange payment by BACs. At the end of the fixed term, your investment can be redeemed, donated or reinvested in the Green Bond.

The table below illustrates example investments, with the shaded area highlighting the amount of interest ultimately recieved by the Bond, calculated at a rate of 4% interest.It also shows the minmum amount of time the investment must be kept in the bank according to the amount given.

How is Sheffield's Green Bond managed?

Sheffield’s Green Bond is managed by an independent Charitable Trust (reg.no: 1118917) Projects are selected through an application process and the Trustees decide which projects receive funding. Groundwork Sheffield provides an executive function, overseeing day-to-day management and administration of the Green Bond and acting as the first point of contact.

The Cooperative Bank was chosen as Sheffield's Green Bond banking partner because of their ethical principles.
